As luck would have it, I arrive in Nice while the Carnival parade is happening which means no tram to Vieux Nice so had to walk. Glad it was not too far!

Traveling to Nice France
View TGV to Nice, France from Paris. After a couple rough days with Jet Lag feeling almost normal. I enjoyed my first few days in Paris but needed to take time to rest.

I have been to Paris several times and have seen the major tourist sites. Venturing a bit off the beaten path this trip. Today, I went to Cemetery Pere Lacaise in the 20th arrondissement. This is the largest about 110 acres and most visited Parisian cemetery. It is more of a park filled with trees, mausoleums and funeral sculptures. In the 17th century, the Jesuits acquired this estate and built a hospice on it. Following Robert Damien's attempt to wound Louis XV, the Jesuits were expelled from the kingdom and the buildings handed over to the creditors. From 1804 , it became known as the Cemetiere de l'Est.
My walk by Gilles Drsmons and a map, took me three hours. The map bought at the gate for 2.50 Euros.
The cemetery is laid out by divisions. It is easier to navigate if you know the graves you want to see before going. Some of the graves are not easy to find however there are people to help along the way.

My favorite area of Paris is the Marais.it s the oldest and best preserved area of Paris. There are narrow,beautiful streets, museums, hotels, squares and shops and bars. Dating to the 13th century. In 1605 Henry IV created Place des Vosges.
The walk begins at Pont Marie.walking along Quai de l'hotel de- VIlle to Rue de l'Hotel-de-VIlle.

This is one of the oldest buildings in Paris and one of the three great Parisian medieval mansions.
The hotel now houses the Fine Arts Library if the city of Paris.

Cathedral of Sevilla
The Cathedral of Seville is phenomenal. I spent 4 hours listening to the audio tour and Taking photos.
I climbed to the top of the Guralda Tower. The enormity of the Cathedral cannot be comprehended in one visit.
The Cathedral of Seville is the largest Gothic Cathedral in Europe. The total surface area is,23,500 square meters. It is the third largest Church on the world. It is a masterpiece of Almohad architecture. It is a UNESCO site. It has 80 chapels.
It houses the tomb if Christopher Columbus.
1184-1198, Seville's Main Mosque was built using bricks. In 1218, The Mosque was consecrated as a Cathedral.
1131-1517, Construction was begun on the Gothic Cathedral using stone. 1528-1601, During the Renaissance work was carried out in the Royal Chapal. The Main Sacristy. The Chapter house and it's annexes.
1618-1758, Baroque in the cathedral:the Oarish Church of El Sagrario and two minor chapels.
1825-1928, the last major works in the Cathedral. Three main doors and the southwest corner.
